Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival & Lake Garda

Arrive at the Milan airport and meet your guide and driver. Transfer via private car/van to luxury accommodations on Lake Garda.

After free time to relax and settle in to the pace of Italian life, we will toast your arrival with a “welcome to Italy” Sommelier guided tasting of Lombardia’s famous Franciacorta wines (some of the finest Champagne method Italian sparklers).

Dinner on the lake includes a tasting menu of traditional regional fare accompanied by fine local wines.

Day 2

Lake Garda

In the morning enjoy a boat ride on spectacular Lake Garda, stopping at one of the charming lakeside villages to have lunch accompanied by local wines.

Free afternoon and evening with dinner reservations made for you at a local restaurant.

Day 3

Venice & Canal Grande boat tour

In the morning transfer to Venice via private car/van with driver.

Rendezvous with our Venice water taxi and travel through the lagoon of Venice to your accommodations in the city center.

After enjoying some free time to relax and settle into the magical atmosphere of Venice, move on to a  special introduction to the city which includes a private boat tour of the Canal Grande and surrounding canals.

In the evening enjoy dinner with fine local wines at a traditional Venetian trattoria.

Day 4

Venice history & Cuisine

In the morning enjoy a guided tour of some of Venice's most charming neighborhoods including San Polo, the Rialto bridge and Saint Mark's square with our local art historian guide. Learn the secrets of local cuisine as you visit Venice's famous fish market as well as some of its most historic gourmet shops.

Stop for a delicious lunch at a local trattoria followed by a free afternoon and evening to explore Venice on your own.

In the evening meet Luca, your gondolier, for a sunset gondola ride along Venice’s most romantic canals.  Dinner reservations will be made for you at a local restaurant.

Day 5

Venice - Islands of Murano and Burano

After a leisurely morning on your own, meet our private water taxi for an afternoon boat tour through the lagoons of Venice to visit the islands of Murano (famous for its beautiful glass) and Burano (a charming, colourful island in the lagoon).

Return to your hotel for a free evening.

Dinner reservations will be made for you.

Day 6

Venice to Tuscany

Check-out of the hotel with a few free hours to explore Venice on  your own or join us for a walking tour of the Cannaregio district and the Jewish Ghetto.

In the late morning travel via private water taxi to San Giuliano where we will meet our driver for a four hour drive to Tuscany.

Stop en-route to sample regional cuisine at a wonderful restaurant in the Emilia-Romagna region. 

Check in to accommodations in a beautiful 17th century villa located in the Chianti countryside near Florence followed by free time to relax and settle in.

Dinner reservation will be made for you at a nearby restaurant.

Day 7

Florence by night

After a leisurely morning at the villa, travel to Florence and enjoy a walking tour of the historic city center with a local art historian guide.  Enjoy free time to shop and explore the city followed by a gourmet meal at one of Florence’s finest restaurants

Day 8

Tuscany Villa Cooking Class

Join your chef at the villa to learn about Tuscany’s seasonal delicacies. Move on to the kitchen to prepare a traditional Tuscan meal and at the end of your cooking class sit down and enjoy a casual lunch of all that you have prepared together.

Free afternoon followed by dinner reservation at a fine local restaurant.

Day 9

Orvieto & Travel to Rome

In the morning travel to Rome via private car with driver. Stop along the way to visit the historic city of Orvieto and tour the underground cellars of a famous local winery. After a delicious lunch of traditional Umbrian fare move on to your luxury hotel in Rome. Free time to relax and settle in followed by dinner at a fine local restaurant.

Day 10

Rome City Center

Enjoy a walking tour of some of Rome’s most famous sites including Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Trevi fountain and the Spanish Steps. Enjoy lunch  in one of our favorite local trattorias

Free evening and dinner on your own.

Day 11

Ancient Rome

In the morning explore ancient Rome in a casual escorted walking tour of Rome’s ancient city center including the Capitoline Hill, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum.

Lunch reservation at a local trattoria or cafè.

After lunch enjoy free time to visit other sites, shop or explore the streets of Rome.

Dinner reservation at a fine restaurant near your hotel.

Day 12

Vatican

In the morning we will take you on a  guided walk to Saint Peter’s where you can explore Saint Peter’s and the Vatican on your own.  Free afternoon in Rome.

In the evening meet your guide and enjoy a gourmet farewell dinner of fine Roman cuisine.

Day 13

Departure

Transfer to the Rome airport and farewell
